The Koreoproject cultural association was founded in Lecce in 2005 under the artistic direction of Giorgia Maddamma, an Italian-German trained dancer, choreographer and international teacher.

KOREOPROJECT
Since 2005 it has produced more than twenty dance performances and multidisciplinary creations in collaboration with musicians, actors, singers and international artists, touring in Puglia, in many Italian regions and abroad (Germany, France, Egypt).
Its artistic production is marked by a strong vocation for international relations and cross-border cooperation, with the support of Apulian municipalities and provinces, permanent theatres, Dance and Fine Arts academies, music conservatories and European and American universities.
Since 2013 he has been organizing the campus and festival Uni-Tanz, a national point of reference for advanced training in contemporary dance, and carries out research activities, laboratory residencies and exhibitions.
For some years he has been promoting the culture of dance also in schools, through repertoire workshops at the dance high schools of Puglia and Basilicata.
Since 2017 Koreoproject has been working in the social sector within the Borgo S. Nicola prison in Lecce, where it creates live shows with inmates and guest artists, mixing dance, music, singing, sculpture, photography and writing.
Shows produced include Evasioni, The road, Tracce, Oltre lo spazio, Tracce 2 e Sacre radici. Since 2020 he has been part of the National Coordination of Theater in Prison.
Giorgia Maddamma
Dancer, choreographer, and artistic director.
Graduated from the National Dance Academy in Rome and from Folkwang Hochschule in Essen directed by Pina Bausch, where she studied with great masters such as Jean Cébron, Malou Airaudo, Susanne Linke, Lutz Forster, Libby Nye, Dominique Merci, Alfredo Corvino and many others.
For over twenty years he danced in German and Italian dance companies: Rodolpho Leoni Dance, Mark Siezkarek Dance Company, Stadtheater Hagen, Stadtheater Munster Daniel Goldin, Compagnia Danzare la Vita Elsa Piperno, Scenamobile Joseph Fontano, Balletto di Puglia Toni Candeloro, Echoes of american dancetheater Libby Nye (Repertoire Humphrey, Limon, Sokolow and Hoving); as a freelance dancer she has worked for Malou Airaudo, Alice Condodina, Ernestine Stodelle, Jim May, Micha van Hoeck, Stephan Brinkmann, Fernando Suels Mendoza and many others.
In 1991 she graduated as a ballet teacher from the National Dance Academy in Rome; in 2005 she earned a master’s degree in contemporary dance pedagogy at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen, where she taught and choreographed for more than five years. She served as assistant for the reconstruction of the Limon repertory for Prof. Libby Nye and Prof. Alice Condodina (Limon Dance Company) at the Folkwang Universität der Künste Essen and Hagen Dancetheater, Germany.
She has taught at many international institutions including the Conservatorio Superior de Danza in Madrid, KSOT (National School of Dance in Athens), Koninklijke Balletschool Antwerp, the Royal Danish Ballet School in Copenhagen, the University of Bologna, the Riga Music Conservatory in Latvia, and ESMED Ecole Superièure de Music et Danse in Lille, Hauts-de-France.

In 2005 she founded and has directed Koreoproject, a dance company with which she creates dance productions in collaboration with many artists and institutions.
Since 2013 she has directed and organized the Uni-Tanz Lecce dance campus and festival, hosting artists, teachers and directors of dance institutions; since 2017 she has worked in the field of social inclusion in the Lecce prison, directing workshops and live performances with inmates; since 2020 Koreoproject has been part of the Italian National Theatre in Prison Coordination network.

Sara has been working steadily with l since 2010 until today’Association Koreoproject directed by Giorgia Maddamma, he danced in various productions (Nina, Trilogia del Viaggio, Le Troiane, L’Abyss in the Eyes, Caresses, Evasioni, Return to the Earth, Tracce, Sacred Roots, Bridges Splinters); she collaborated as a choreographer in (Marlene, Crash, Na Die Ander, The Time of Nine) and in the organizational part. He curated the projects: Il Teatro delle Parole Belle, Uni-Tanz Museum, Azioni in Danza Summer Edition, the Off Stage Dance Review.
Sara Bizzoca si And laureata alla “Folkwang Universität der Künste” (Essen, Germany) in 2009 studying with Lutz Forster, Malou Airaudo, Dominique Mercy, Libby Nye, Rodolpho Leoni, Juan Cruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola and David Zambrano. During his studies he had the opportunityto to dance the Limon technique repertoire and collaborate with choreographers such as Urs Dietrich and Stefan Brinkman. From 2006 to 2010 Sara danced for several productions at Düsseldorf, Bochum, Essen e Wuppertal. Si And specialized with international teachers and choreographers in Vienna, Paris, Berlin and Brussels and Amsterdam.
Over the years he has collaborated with the Mehnir company directed by Giulio DeLeo (2013) and the Teatro dei Borgia directed by Giampiero Borgia and Elena Cotugno (2014-2015).
Ha partecipato come coreografa e artista ospite all’interior of the Performing Art 180 Festival ° a Sofia in Bulgaria nel 2014-2015-2016-2023.
In March 2016 Sara graduated in Dance – Movement Therapy at L’Institute of Arts Therapies and Creative Sciences (Lecce). In 2015 he collaborated with the choreographer Penny Chivas for the creation of “Decline” sostenuto e prodotto da “The Work Room” (Glasgow) and selected for DIG Festival Glasgow and Azioni in Danza at Barletta. In 2015 he created in collaboration with Elisabetta Bonfá “Na Die Ander”winning project of “Residanza” (Naples) and on tour in various theaters from 2015 to 2017.
In July 2022 he won the prize for the section “Dance Movie Giuria Popolare” at the Premio Roma 2022 with “binAria” in collaboration with Giorgia Romano. In January 2023 he discussed his degree thesis obtaining the Diploma in Contemporary Dance Techniques at the’National Dance Academy of Rome.
In 2023 he curated the first edition of the Off-Stage Review at the Teatro Fantasia of Barletta, with which he currently collaborates for the Scuola Popolare delle Arti project financed by the Region Puglia.

Ambra Berni Canani, originally from Umbria, moved to Bologna in 2007 where she undertook professional training in modern creative technique at the Chorea study centre. During these years he has the opportunity to delve into basic body techniques, modern and contemporary dance, scenic creativity workshops, New Butooh seminars, dance movement therapy and to work on movement composition and improvisation. In that period, an artistic project was born with Nicoletta Sacco on the study of Dervish turns.
He subsequently moved to Salento, where he continued to study and deepen his techniques through participation in Uni -Tanz Lecce, the International Contemporary Dance Campus organized by Koreoproject. Thanks to the meeting with Giorgia Maddamma, artistic director of Koreoproject, in 2021 she participates in the dance theater project “Beyond Space”, winner of the regional tender Custodiamo la Cultura and carried out within the prison of Lecce; in 2023 he participated in the filming of the choreography “Tracce” by Giorgia Maddamma with the inmates of the prison of Lecce, and in 2024 in the first study of the production that won the Allianz tender in collaboration with ProartiST of Munster (Germany) entitled Bridges/Schegge, directed by Giorgia Maddamma.
Jolanda Maya Perniola, originally from Lecce, studied classical dance technique and repertoire with Toni Candeloro and contemporary dance, in particular Limon technique, with Giorgia Maddamma.
She participated in all the editions of the campus organized by Koreoproject Uni-Tanz lecce from 2019 to 2023, dancing in the campus galas, the Sokolow Heritage project and Uni-Tanz On Tour Cairo with Giorgia Maddamma and Fernando Suels Mendoza; between 2021 and 2023 he performs in a series of performances choreographed by maestro Candeloro, including the project Femminileplurale, dedicated to social inclusion and therefore brought to the penitentiary institutions of Lecce and Brindisi; in 2023 he stars in the short film The Gift, a project by Accademia Aspasia Lecce. Finally, from 2023 a season of new productions begins with the Koreoproject association, directed by Giorgia Maddamma, among which Sacred Roots/The Majesty of Wood e Bridges/Schegge.
Pierandrea Rosato (’94) is a dancer and choreographer based in Lecce.
A black belt in Karate, he graduated in Contemporary Dance from the Folkwang University of the Arts and has worked with companies such as Tanztheater Wuppertal / Pina Bausch, FTS, El Conde de Torrefiel, Gob Squad and Zerogrammi.
He holds a degree with honours in Theatre and Performing Arts from the IUAV University of Venice, where he developed a thesis on the aesthetic categories of the weird and the eerie.
His works have been presented at festivals across Europe and China. He is an associate artist of Sosta Palmizi and Koreoproject; he has won awards and research grants including Komm Tanz, Anghiari Dance Hub and Nuovo Grand Tour ’25.
Recent creations include: Infieri (selected by Vetrina Anticorpi XL), Shining Bruises (finalist at Prospettive Danza Teatro ’25) and Carusə | sine Sole sileo (winner of the IndipenDanse call).
His work explores hauntology and power structures, using body and movement to rewrite memory and presence in and beyond the performative space.
Gabriele Scarcia (2004) is an Italian contemporary dancer and performer, based in Turin. He is currently a dancer with the BTT – Balletto Teatro di Torino company, directed by Viola Scaglione.
He trained at the Liceo Coreutico Ciardo Pellegrino in Lecce and continued his studies between Italy and the United States. In 2024 he joined the Agora Coaching Project in Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Enrico Morelli and Michele Merola.
In 2023 he received a full scholarship for the Summer Intensive of the Limón Dance Foundation in New York, where he was subsequently selected for the Professional Training Program 2023/2024.
He has worked as a performer in “The Nutcracker” by Mauro Bigonzetti with MM Contemporary Dance Company and has taken part in several Made in Italy productions at the Centro Coreografico Nazionale/Aterballetto, collaborating with choreographers such as Emanuele Soavi, Michele Merola, Adriano Bolognino, Masa Kolar and others.
In 2025 he won the IndipenDanse Call at the Festival Nazionale della Danza in Cagliari with the solo Carusə | sine Sole sileo by Pierandrea Rosato.
He has participated in workshops and training programmes with international artists including Crystal Pite, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Risa Steinberg, Kimie Parker, Cristiana Morganti, among others.
Alongside his performance work, he has experience as a model for Adidas and Vialli campaigns.
Born in 1967, she graduated from the Istituto Statale d’Arte in Forlì and later earned a degree from the Accademia di Belle Arti.
She subsequently graduated with honors in Psychology from the University of Bologna.
She has received numerous awards, including third prize at the national painting and sculpture competition “Fiera dei Cavalli” (figurative section) in 1985, and the silver medal at the “12th National Painting and Graphic Arts Competition Il Chiostro” in Cesena in 1986. She was honored in three consecutive editions of the Marina di Ravenna painting competition (1986, 1987, 1988), winning First Prize in the youth section in 1987.
Some of her work inspired by the history of hairstyling was published on covers and in catalogues, as well as in the series “Acconciature e Costumi nei Secoli” (Hairstyles and Costumes Through the Centuries) for the publisher Enzo Fazoli Editore of Forlì in 1986, and in “Acconciature e Costumi del Popolo Inca” (Hairstyles and Costumes of the Inca People) for Antica Tipografia Croppi of Forlì in 1992.
She took part in several group exhibitions, and in 1999 held her first solo exhibition, titled “Ricercata…mente.”
In 2000 she staged the exhibition “Voci Sottovuoto. L’ombra intatta della memoria” (Voices Under Vacuum. The Untouched Shadow of Memory), paired with a concert by singer Daniela Piccari on texts by Nino Pedretti.
In 2001, as part of Ravenna Festival, she designed the set for the concert “Shakespeare in qua e in là.”
Her collaboration with Ravenna Festival continued in 2002 with her participation in the concert “Esportazione Senza Filtro – Musica al Caffè” as set designer and co-author of the song lyrics.
Together with Silvia Evangelisti, professor of Contemporary Art History at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, she organized the Advanced Specialization Program in Live Performance Arts and Disciplines at Fabbrica delle Candele in Forlì. She wrote the lyrics for the new concert “A Mare Blu” for Accademia Perduta Romagna Teatri.
From 1999 to 2002 she collaborated with Ideadrome Tecnology as writer and co-writer, producing scripts for private radio and television programs and features.
In 2004 she began a collaboration with composer Luciano Titi, writing the texts for Ciclostile, a concert/performance exploring new sonorities.
From 2004 to 2009 she worked for the Polo Scientifico-Didattico of Forlì in the External Relations office, organizing extracurricular activities for university students, communications, and promotional activities.
Together with Ruggero Sintoni, artistic director of Accademia Perduta, she conceived and developed the experimental project Teatro In Corso. In 2005, in an educational context, she taught dramaturgy and textual analysis at the new School of Musical Theatre in Ravenna, founded by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti.
With Luciano Titi and Daniela Piccari she composed the narrative concert “Analfabeti Nati.”
She wrote the texts for the concert organized by the Municipality of Cervia, “Sulla Punta della Lingua,” and in 2007 the texts for the show “Crepa,” performed by Daniela Piccari, Lucia Vasini, and Giorgia Maddamma, and for the show “Ti Linko il Sito” with Lucia Vasini and Daniela Piccari.
In 2008 she created the set design and wrote the lyrics for the song Nina for the show Nina, produced by Koreoproject.
For the Municipality and Province of Forlì she created an exhibition/concert titled “Cronache dall’Olimpo,” poetry. A catalogue and a CD titled PERLE were produced for the occasion.
In 2006 she created the multimedia set design for the concert Amaracmand, a project by the Emilia Romagna Region, the Province of Forlì-Cesena, and the Fondazione della Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì, dedicated to preserving the Romagnol dialect. She also contributed to writing texts for a show produced by the Teatro Franco Parenti of Milan on dialect and regional enterprises.
In 2010 she published La Visione Cieca; in 2013, Amen; and in 2014, Legami di Sangue — a trilogy for Foschi Editore.
In 2016, Delia è di Nessuno, her fourth noir novel, was published by Laurana Editore; in 2020, Frank was published by Morellini Editore.
Her work in the visual arts has expanded into Design.
In 2020, together with Jessica Di Vito, she founded the brand Le Clochard.
Working together, the two create furnishing graphics, and in 2023 they exhibited their designs alongside the luxury upholstered furniture brand Adrenalina at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
In 2023 she curated the texts and direction of the show Sacre Radici together with Giorgia Maddamma.
